Reviews in Astrophysics, by J.P. Vallée see also discoveries
Why write reviews ? Generalization and synthesis are parts of science as well.
Science is woefully short of people who will write a review, with a unified
scientific worldview or vision.
Reviews are needed if we want to reach out to others in other disciplines, to
something
scientifically bigger with more potential for crossing disciplinary
boundaries,
even transcendent with passion and wonder.
disciplines,
même transcendantes avec passion et émerveillement.

I published a paper on polarization and Galactic magnetic fields
in 1956!" (Sidney van den Bergh, NRC of Canada, 2004 Sept.)

of the latest research and observations in the field of cosmic
magnetic fields." (Robi Banerjee, McMaster Univ., Hamilton, 2005 Jan.)

many things in there I always wanted to know... now I know where
to refer to !" (Pierre Lesaffre, Astronomy Dept., Univ. Cambridge,
UK, 2005 Apr.)
"... That is an extremely useful monograph." (Peter Meszaros,
Penn State Univ. Univ. Park, USA, 2005 Apr.)

as Watson said to Holmes, there is anything that has escaped
our attention, please consult Vallee (2004)." (Virginia Trimble &
M. Aschwanden, Astrophysics in 2004, PASP, 117, 311-394)
"... a very interesting and up to date synthetic view of what we
know about the matters." (Silvano Massiglia, Universita, Torino,
2005 May)

"... excellent article on magnetism. Very thorough and well-done,
excellent for the amateur and professional alike. Long overdue
especially on a topic that together with electricity will eventually
become even more important in our better understanding of the cosmos."
(Franklin Loehde, Past National President, R.A.S.Canada, Edmonton, Alb.,
1998 May).
"... It was a delight to read and I especially enjoyed the scaling
length ladder you constructed. I teach an introductory astronomy course
here, and I am grateful to have you remind me of a topic that sometimes
gets neglected." (Walter Zukauskas, Physics Dept., Dalhousie Univ., NS,
